Frequently asked questions

You’ll need to have the latest version of the CommSec App installed, and ensure you have enabled notifications via your device settings:

If you’re using an iPhone:

  1. Open the “Settings” app on your iOS device.
  2. Use the search bar at the top and search for “CommSec”.
  3. Tap on “CommSec” in the search results to enter the CommSec app’s settings.
  4. Look for the “Notifications” or “Notifications & Sounds” option and tap on it.
  5. Toggle the switch next to “Allow Notifications” to ON (green).
  6. All done! Push notifications for CommSec will now be enabled on your iOS device.
  7. Alternatively, if you don’t wish to receive notifications from CommSec, switch the toggle to OFF (grey).

If you’re using an Android device:

  1. Open the “Settings” app on your Android device.
  2. Use the search bar at the top and search for “CommSec”.
  3. Tap “CommSec” in the search results to enter the CommSec app’s settings.
  4. Look for the “Notifications” or “Notification settings” option and tap on it.
  5. Toggle the switch next to “Allow Notifications” or similar option to ON (it may already be enabled by default).
  6. All done! Push notifications for the selected app will now be enabled on your Android device.
  7. Alternatively, if you don’t wish to receive notifications from CommSec, switch the toggle to OFF.
  1. In the CommSec app, go to “More” and select “Settings”
  2. Select the toggle “Enable PIN” to enable/disable PIN login on your device
  3. Select “Change PIN” if you want to change your PIN at any time
  4. Select the toggle “Face ID login” or “Biometric” to enable/disable biometric login on your device.

If you’re using an iPhone:

  1. Press and hold on empty space on your iOS device’s home screen to access the Edit Menu. After a moment, the icons on the screen will start jiggling. Tap the “+” icon in the top-left corner.
  2. Search for “CommSec” and tap on the result.
  3. Choose the widget size and tap “Add Widget”.
  4. Tap outside of the dialogue to close the Edit Menu and tap "Done" in the top-right corner.
  5. You can edit your widget at any time by performing a long press on your CommSec widget.
  6. You're done! The widget is now added to your home screen.

If you’re using an Android device, the process of enabling a widget on your home screen varies between manufacturer, handset model and operating system version. In general,

  1. Press and hold on an empty space on your home screen.
  2. Select "Widgets" from the menu that appears.
  3. Search for “CommSec” and tap on the result.
  4. Tap and hold the widget, then drag it to your home screen.
  5. Release it in the desired location and resize if you wish.
  6. You're done! The widget is now added to your home screen.

In the CommSec app, go to “Settings” and select the toggle “Watchlist streaming”

In the CommSec app, navigate to “More” then tap on “Service Centre” to launch the CommSec website on your device. From here, you can update your details.
