Wesfarmers Limited (WES) shares have surged to their highest levels in more than 2 years after delivering first half earnings. The conglomerate reported record first half earnings for its Kmart business, which saw pre-tax earnings rise by more than 26%. Although, the chemicals business remained challenged by lower commodity prices and higher energy costs.
